Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik is making a bold prediction for the Tennessee Titans with less than one week to go until the 2024 NFL draft.
Dominik recently stated that he thinks if the Titans have the choice between Georgia tight end Brock Bowers and Notre Dame left tackle Joe Alt at No. 7, Tennessee will choose Bowers over the much-needed left tackle.
“My dark horse is Brock Bowers,” Dominik said, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online. “If he’s available, I think he’s going to go over the tackle for the Titans.”
Dominik does not feel the same about a receiver for Tennessee, saying that he believes the Titans would go with the tackle instead.
“If it’s down to tackle and receiver, then I think they’ll take the tackle,” he said. “I think the receiver class is deep enough where you could go to Round 2, especially with what they have done at receiver with (Calvin) Ridley and (DeAndre) Hopkins, and (Treylon) Burks. I just don’t think that is going to be the fit that they’re looking for.”
For starters, Treylon Burks should not be mentioned as any semblance of a solution for the Titans. That ship has sailed until he proves otherwise.
While I think Bowers is going to be a very good player, the Titans should be shunned for taking him at No. 7, especially if it’s over Alt or one of the top-three receivers. The only way they should consider him is after a trade back.

I’m of the opposite opinion of Dominik when it comes to receiver. I do think one of the top three could move the Titans off of Alt with how deep the tackle class is. I still think the Titans’ pick should be Alt no matter what, though.
