Micah Parsons’ talents extend beyond the football field.
In the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, the Dallas Cowboys linebacker dropped 37 points and 16 rebounds, earning MVP honors while leading Team Shannon Sharpe to a 100-91 victory over Team Stephen A. Smith.

“They said don’t treat it like it’s football,” Parsons told ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth following the victory. “But I don’t believe that, man. I brought my aggression to the court, and I’m taking home this trophy.”
Parsons is the second consecutive NFL player to win Celebrity All-Star Game MVP. Last year, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf captured the award.
The Cowboys star’s success on the hardwood may come as a surprise, but the 6-foot-3, 245-pounder starred in football and basketball at Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He once faced Brooklyn Nets guard Lonnie Walker IV in a District 3 Championship Game.
“I just played my role,” Parsons said of his approach, via The Sporting News. “I would get putbacks, grab rebounds, do a little bit of work down low.”
Meanwhile, on the gridiron, Parsons continues to establish himself as one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL. In 17 games this past season, he finished with a career-high 14 sacks and 18 tackles for loss.
The 24-year-old has yet to capture Defensive Player of the Year. He finished second in DPOY voting in 2021 and 2022 before coming up third in 2023. But it wouldn’t be a surprise if he eventually wins the honor. Parsons is one of five players in NFL history to register 40 or more sacks through their first three seasons.
